Millet
Ragi is a staple crop in Sikkim; and it is a significant part of the state’s organic farming initiative. It is a nutritious and versatile grain used to make traditional foods like Dhainro (porridge or bread) and the alcoholic beverage Jaar or Chang, as well as modern items like biscuits. Ragi is packed with fibre, calcium, protein, and iron, making it a highly nutritious food.
It is a good alternative for those with gluten sensitivities.
